Smilies Legend
We decided to go to Kelsey's Italian Restaurant next door and get some real food. We were joined by Leon Ford and Dee O'Hara. After a short while later, Larry McGlynn joined our table, just as Apollo 12 Moonwalker Alan Bean was walking our way to an empty table. We respectfully invited Alan to sit with us, but he declined saying he was too tired and just wanted to have a quiet meal. Interestingly, he sat less than 6 feet away from us at a booth within earshot of our table's conversations. After a brief discussion about the (then) recent Congressional ruling, which was signed into law by President Obama, regarding the right of astronauts to keep their flown mission mementos, and in noticing that astronaut nurse Dee O'Hara was sitting with us, Alan started joining our conversation. At one point, Bean said "You know, we took all kinds of things with us. I even had a ring someone had given me and when I got back, I couldn't remember who'd given it to me and no one ever claimed it. It's been sitting in my safe deposit box ever since the flight."
